Active in the Community
It is important to Anderson Erickson to stay active and involved in the communities they serve. There are many ways for a corporation to benefit their community. AE starts by trying to brighten their little corner of the world by planting over 30,000 tulip bulbs at their corporate office, which produce a blaze of color each spring. Thats just the start.
From their headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, they lend a hand to many local events by providing discounted or donated products. AE is a proud supporter of several charitable activities in Des Moines, such as the Juvenile Diabetes Walk and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure. They have a special educational partnership with Brubaker Elementary School (formerly Douglas School). In addition, AE participates at many health fairs and farmers markets in the Des Moines area.
In 1994, AE entered a partnership with the Iowa State Fair to help renovate the historic buildings located on the fairgrounds and has been an active partner with the fair for many years. Every year, they sponsor the Anderson Erickson Stage at the Fair, and their efforts, along with those of many others, have helped make the Iowa State Fair one of the largest state fairs in the country. This year, the Fair will celebrate its 150th Anniversary!
AE has continued their commitment to the community from their Kansas City office. Along with various donations, AE has become a big sponsor of the annual Sabates Run, a major fundraising event for the Childrens Center for the Visually Impaired. For many years, AE has handed out hundreds of cups of yogurt to race participants and volunteers at the post-celebration. AE also supports the KC Race for the Cure and the KCPT (Public Television) Auction.
Corporate citizenship is taken seriously at Anderson Erickson and, as these examples show, a significant focus of AEs corporate mission is dedicated to supporting worthy community causes.
