A Few Ways AE Dairy Helps Our Community
Continuing family traditions: few things invite a sense of goodwill and community more than a yearly tradition. One of Anderson Erickson Dairy’s favorites is our planting of more than 40,000 tulip bulbs for our community to enjoy at the dairy. AE’s founder Iver Erickson adored tulips and their eye-catching colors. Once they’ve bloomed each spring, staff, neighbors and local organizations are invited to dig up the bulbs and replant them to beautify their little corner of the world.
Making product donations: we donate to and participate in dozens of walks, races and similar community events for charitable causes. Many of these events are local, like the Living History Farms Road-O-Cross Off-Road Race and JDRF’s One Walk. Others, like the annual CCVI Trolley Run in Kansas City, demonstrate that our support isn’t limited to Iowa.
Taking the lead our own way: AE doesn’t just follow the example of others. We also start our own initiatives, and some have become influential well beyond Iowa. For example, we were the very first dairy to offer double safety-sealed packaging on our products. It was also AE Dairy that pioneered displaying photos of missing children on our milk cartons, ensuring the photos were seen across hundreds of thousands of homes. Finally, we were the very first donor to the Food Bank of Iowa, and we’re proud to continue our contributions today.
