Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the crockpot (I used by 9x13 crock pot, but a 6–8 quart size works as well).

Whisk together the dry ingredients and chocolate milk in a bowl listed under Layer 2. Sprinkle it over the melted butter. Do not stir.

Whisk together the dry ingredients in the same bowl listed under Layer 3 and sprinkle over Layer 2. Do not stir. Top with the pecans.

Pour the boiling water evenly over the top of the dish. Do not stir.

Cook on HIGH for 2 hours.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream (you can leave the dessert on warm for a couple hours after it’s done baking to hang out).
