Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a 13x18 sheet cake pan.

In a stand mixer stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

With the mixer on low, start adding in the melted butter, eggs, milk and vanilla extract until it becomes a smooth batter.

Pour the batter into the greased pan and spread it out until smooth. Lay the sliced strawberries onto the cake batter.

Bake the cake for 40 minutes or until slightly golden around the edges. Place it on a cooling rack.

While the cake is cooling make the homemade whipped cream. Using the same stand mixer, attach the whisk attachment and pour the heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla into the bowl. Whisk on medium high for 3-4 minutes or just until soft peaks form.

Cover the bowl of whipped cream with plastic wrap and keep in the fridge (up to 2 hours) until ready to eat. Serve the strawberry cake with the fresh whipped cream and more strawberries.
